Belkyra
Belkyra is an innovative beauty breakthrough and first -in class- aesthetic treatment for both men and women who are bothered by fullness under their chins, and wish to improve the appearance for their chin profile.
The active ingredient in Belkyra is deoxycholic acid, which is a lecithin-type chemical substance and is one of the body’s naturally occurring bile salts. It has been used in Europe and North America for over a decade to reduce localized areas of fat. When injected into the fat layer, it destroys fat cells by disrupting the membrane, leaving the cell’s contents to be processed as waste by the body.

Our doctors will check that you have excess submental fat (double chin) and confirm whether you are a good candidate for Belkyra.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE TREATMENT?
The treatment requires multiple injections, (20-50) into the fat layers under the chin and is a quick procedure (approximately 20 minutes) with minimal discomfort. There will be some swelling immediately afterwards and for the next few days until the liquid dissipates.
AFTER THE TREATMENT
Common side effects include the following:
Swelling
Bruising
Mild pain directly after treatment, decreasing rapidly after 15 minutes
Numbness
Redness
Areas of stiffness or hardness in the treatment areas
Tingling or itchiness in the treatment area
Rare complications that may occur include the following:
Swallowing difficulties
Nerve injury in the face or jaw, making it difficult to smile evenly or perform other facial expressions
Because only small amounts of fat are dissolved during your injections, your body can easily handle the processing of the unwanted fat cells without any negative impact on your liver or kidneys.
Belkyra results are permanent, barring that the patient does not have an excessive weight gain.
INSTRUCTIONS
There are no specific after care instructions with Belkyra. However, you may apply ice or a cold-pack to the treatment area for 10 to 20 minutes, as needed. About 72% of patients experience bruising but it is easy to cover with make-up and is not noticeable under the chin. You may notice minor skin tightening after the treatment.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Every client’s needs and results differ, so depending on how much fat you want to dissolve and how quickly your body works with the Belkyra, you will need somewhere from 3-6 treatments.
